You will be joining our Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) department to help deliver and promote safe and sustainable working practices across the company.

Our SHE team support and advise colleagues working in a wide range of fields including; biotech, consumer, industrial, energy, telecoms, healthcare, sustainability and more. This role is vital to ensure Cambridge Consultants, and the projects we deliver for clients, meet industry and government standards.

Role and responsibilities

Your role will involve many duties and responsibilities. We will discuss these further during the interview process but below is a list of the types of things you could expect.

This list is a description of what we expect the role will entail. You do not necessarily need experience in all these areas, and we welcome the possibility of you identifying and developing new areas of focus yourself.

While you’ll have significant autonomy and sole responsibility for many areas, you’ll also be collaborating with a dedicated, passionate, and adaptable team. You’ll need to present and communicate data clearly, taking a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities 

• Gather and check raw data from internal and external digital repositories/portals
• Gather and check raw data manually from accounts systems, including from paper invoices.
• Update and maintain Excel spreadsheets of Environmental, Safety and QA performance data on a routine basis e.g. weekly and monthly.
• Create pivot tables and charts in Excel to analyse and present data, and to report on observed data findings and any associated trends.
• Update monthly performance dashboards for key performance indicators that are visible to the whole of the company.
• Create new performance dashboards and supporting Excel spreadsheets as per company requirements.
• Gather and collate Environmental data for external reports e.g. SECR and ESOS
• Gather and collate Carbon Accounting data to measure internal performance and reporting to our parent company.
• Create monthly and quarterly MAAR and other performance reports.
• Work with IT to help enable transfer of existing Excel systems and data to Power BI.
• Gather data and create Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment monitoring reports for external compliance requirements.
• Undertake general ad hoc data collection and analysis tasks e.g. trend analysis depending on team requirements.
• Evaluate current processes and improve data analysis and performance monitoring, embracing new approaches to ways of working and reporting, as required, to meet the needs of the business.
• Ability to create and implement extensive test plans to ensure any new systems or enhancements to existing systems are thoroughly tested.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, successful candidates will need to meet the requirements listed below.

• Advanced Excel Skills, including capabilities in Power Pivot, Power Query, Pivot Tables, VBA macros, complex formula construction, and dynamic data visualization through charts.
• Good understanding of Statistical analysis techniques and presentation of data
• Excellent attention to detail resulting in rigorous and robust data analysis
• Ability and desire to learn new systems
• Able to deliver results to required timescales and strive for continuous improvement.
