Cambridge Consultants achieves 38th place in The Sunday Times top 100 list
Product design and development firm Cambridge Consultants is the best mid-sized company to work for in the Cambridge technology cluster – according to its own staff – for the second year running.
Employees’ survey responses have placed the company in 38th position in the 2016 list of The Sunday Times 100 Best Mid-Sized Companies to Work For. The company has also achieved 3-star accreditation for “extraordinary” workplace engagement – up from 2-star in the previous two years.
The rankings were announced at a gala dinner in London, with Cambridge Consultants again placed ahead of many household names. Places in the top 100 list are determined by the results of a staff survey. As well as things like pay and benefits, and work-life balance, the survey covers topics such as whether employees believe they can make a valuable contribution to their firm’s success, how proud they are to work for their company and whether they think their organisation gives something back to their local community.
“I am delighted that our staff still think we are a great place to work,” said Alan Richardson, CEO of Cambridge Consultants. “As we continue our ambitious expansion plans – which have already seen the company double in size in just four years – we are determined to preserve our unique working culture. It’s a vital element of what makes us the employer of choice for truly talented people – and it’s great to see it reflected in these results.”
Employees at Cambridge Consultants receive free lunches and refreshments, as well as a comprehensive healthcare package and a performance-related bonus scheme – and half a million pounds a year is invested in training. An active social club gives the company a 'family feel', and it has a culture of care, support and teamwork. The company recruited 110 people last year – and plans to add a further 100 or more during 2016.
